Today

Today has been one of those days.
The thermos opened in the bag somehow.
All the papers, the wallet, the phone,
the AC remote, drenched with coffee.
Stains everywhere.
Attempted to fix it but made it worse.
Coffee dripped all over the seats,
I tried to wipe them clean
while stuck in traffic, and then just gave up.
Running late, but not worried really,
Everything can wait.
It’s one of those days.

Arrived to school after eight,
to find no parking space,
so I parked in the sand
and walked to the gate
dropping several coffee-stained papers
along the way.
Didn’t bother to stop and pick them up
Left them to the wind and rain
And I did not really care,
It’s just one of those days.

I ran up the stairs.
The bell had already rung.
There was a substitute in my class,
so I decided to slow down.
I settled into my desk,
took out the wet and sticky red pens,
and shook off the coffee from the AC remote.
The screams and shouts already resounded down the hall,
yet I just leaned against the door
sipping at my coffee and thinking,
Man, I simply don’t care,
It’s just one more of those days.
